Nigerian music sensation Davido makes a bold statement, claiming that he deserves 20 Grammys.
Recall that the artist received three nominations for the 66th Grammy Awards, despite having previously been passed over by the Recording Academy.
in a recent interview with France 24, Ahead of the Grammy awards ceremony, Davido stated that he should have received 20 Grammy Awards by now.
Davido said:
“Shoutout to the Recording Academy. This is my first nomination ever. So it’s crazy to get three at once.
“We worked really hard on this album [‘Timeless’]. I was just really patient. So, if you ask me if I deserve Grammys in the past, I already need 20 Grammys. But, like I said, God’s timing is the best. We will see what happens.”
The 66th Grammy Awards is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 4, 2024.
Davido’s album ‘Timeless‘ is up for Best Global Music Album, while ‘Feel‘ and ‘Unavailable’ are nominated for Best Global Music Performance and Best African Music Performance, respectively.
His visit is in line with Davido’s upcoming show in France scheduled for January 31st.
