The Ministry of Information Anambra State has started the 2024 work-year with a special mass and prayer sessions.

The mass was held in the office of the Information commissioner in Awka.

While giving a sermon, Fr. Chigozie Jidere of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ngozika Estate, Awka prayed for God’s guidance and direction on the workers.

He however urged them to place God first in all they do especially in doing difficult jobs.

The reverend gentleman while urging the workers to do well in the new year said that calling on God for direction while at work would help them do better.

“It is only by the guide and direction of God would we do better and get away from the dangers of the days.

“There are dangers out there but it is by prayers and constant supplication to God that we can be shielded from every danger.’’

Fr. Jidere commended the commissioner for choosing to start off the year through the organization of the praying session with the workers of the ministry.

He prayed for God’s protection on the workers wherever they go and in their jobs.

The Commissioner, Sir Paul Nwosu, while giving thanks to God for the new year described it as a year of promise and abundant favour from God.

He added, “in 2023, we did well but I am hoping that in 2024, we will perform above optimum; we will excel in every department of this ministry such that the World will better appreciate the good works of our Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo Cfr.
