President Tinubu reacts to death of Access Bank CEO, Herbert Wigwe

President Bola Tinubu expressed his shock and extreme sadness upon learning about the deaths of Herbert Wigwe, a prominent banker and entrepreneur, and Mr. Abimbola Ogunbanjo, former Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, as well as members of the Wigwe family.

The President’s heartfelt condolences were issued following official confirmation from reliable sources.

Herbert Wigwe was the CEO of Access Holdings Plc and the founder of the How Foundation.

Tinubu, speaking through his media aide Ajuri Ngelale, described both Wigwe and Ogunbajo as exceptional business leaders in Nigeria, emphasizing that their passing is an incredibly tragic event that is difficult to comprehend.

The President extended his sympathies to the Wigwe and Ogunbanjo families, the business community, and all those affected by this distressing incident.

“I pray for the peaceful repose of the departed and asks God Almighty to comfort the multitude of Nigerians who are grieving and the families of the deceased at this deeply agonizing moment,” Tinubu said in the condolence message.
