Economic Hardship: Violence won’t solve our problems – Lagos Assembly

Sanwo-Olu

In a bid to tackle the economic challenges gripping Lagos State, the State House of Assembly has issued a plea to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, they’ve called for a comprehensive stakeholders’ meeting.

Highlighting the futility of protests and violence, the lawmakers stress the need for sustainable solutions beyond mere palliative measures.

Instead, they advocate for a unified effort, urging political leaders and statesmen to collaborate with the government.

Speaker Mudashiru Obasa underscores the importance of inclusivity, emphasizing the involvement of stakeholders at all levels of governance. “Our priority is to unite our people,” Obasa asserts. “Protests and violence only exacerbate our challenges. Let’s join hands to navigate through this turmoil.”

Obasa rejects the blame game, asserting that neither the president nor the governor is solely responsible for the current predicament. This call for unity echoes throughout the Assembly’s plea for cooperation in charting a path forward for Lagos State.
