Oyo Govt suspends Saki community head

The Oyo State Government has suspended the Baale of Ilua in Saki West Local Government Area of the state, Chief Kilani Ajani.

Ajani was suspended over activities that allegedly caused unrest and political strife within Ilua and Gbepakan communities.

As contained in a letter addressed to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Olusegun Olayiwola from the Attorney-General/Commissioner for Justice, Mr Biodun Aikomo, the Baale was recommended for suspension based on a letter from the Oyo State Solid Minerals Development Agency.

The suspension was subsequently approved by the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters to prevent crisis in the communities from festering and to allow a fair investigation into the allegations against Ajani.
