Revive Ebonyi Angels Football Club And Other Sporting Activities SWAN Urge Governor Nwifuru

Ebonyi State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, has called on Ebonyi State Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru to revive the State owned football club Ebonyi Angels and other Sporting activities that have gone moribon.

The Chairman of SWAN in Ebonyi State, Nnaji, Emmanuel Anike, made this known in an interview with journalists.

Nnaji Emmanuel said the Ebonyi Angel and Sporting activities received little or no attention during the previous under Governor Martin Elechi and Governor David Umahi’s administration which has hampered the growth of Sports in Ebonyi State.

He maintained that sports is a booming business which should not be overlooked by government at all levels mostly with the need to meaningfully engage youths.

Nnaji Emmanuel called on banks and other companies and all well meaning Ebonyians both home and in the diaspora support Nwifuru administration in the area of sports with the view of sponsoring sporting activities and competitions in Ebonyi State.

He commend Governor Francis Nwifuru for much he has done in promoting and sponsoring football competition in Abakaliki and in Ebonyi Development Centres of Ebonyi State when was the Speaker of Ebonyi State House Assembly and the just concluded one he hosted as the Governor Ebonyi State. We encouraged others to emulate him to enable sports development in the State.

The Chairman expressed confidence on Governor Francis Nwifuru Welfare system of administration, saying that sports should receive the needed attention just like Human Capital Development is doing now in Ebonyi State.

Nnaji Emmanuel also urged Principals and head teachers in Ebonyi State to ensure that they have a formidable sports structure in their schools as education and sports goes hand-in-hand.
