A Nigerian Army officer has been caught red-handed extorting money from motorists in a sting operation set up by his senior colleague.
The officer, whose identity has not been disclosed, was caught on camera demanding and receiving bribes from drivers at a checkpoint.
According to sources, the senior officer had received complaints about the extortion and decided to set a trap for the corrupt officer. The officer was caught and immediately arrested.
The Nigerian Army has promised to investigate the incident and take appropriate action against the officer.
