According to recent reports, Governor Seyi Makinde has reached out to Alex’s family and assured them that justice will be served. However, the Vice Chancellor (VC) of Ajayi Crowther University is allegedly trying to cover up the incident, even going so far as to threaten to ban students from using phones to prevent further documentation of crimes on campus.

Shockingly, investigations have revealed that the same group of boys who attacked Alex had previously raped a girl several months ago, but the VC and school staff allegedly kept the incident quiet and out of the media.

The following students are currently with the police:

  1. Jenkins Omofumen
  2. Adeniran Adeyemi
  3. Yusuf Usman
  4. Joseph Badmus
  5. Folorunso Omohlakin
  6. Tomiwa Lawal
  7. Tomiwa Okah-aroh
  8. Gerald Thompson
  9. Hammad Kumolu
  10. Opeyemi Oloyede
  11. Femi David

The following students are still in the hostel:

  1. Okorie Samuel Maduabuchukwu (Alex’s best friend, who allegedly used a wooden object to hit Alex’s head)
  2. Adejumobi Emmanuel Oluwaseun (mechanical engineering)
  3. Iyanuoluwa Oyelakin (electrical/electronics engineering)
  4. Daudu John (computer science)
  5. Honour (radiography)

It is imperative that these individuals are held accountable for their actions, and that the university takes concrete steps to ensure student safety and prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
