Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara on monday inspected the 16.5km Rumuokurusi-Igbo-Etche Road.

During the inspection, the Governor expressed his determination to ensure the road is finally restored, emphasizing its vital role in the economic activities of the state.

“This road is a lifeline for our people, especially traders who rely on it for access to markets. It’s unacceptable that it has been left in such a deplorable state for over a decade,” he lamented.

He noted the satisfactory pace of work, attributing it to the contractor’s understanding of his administration’s commitment to putting the people first.

This key route, which links Obio/Akpor and Etche LGAs, had been left in a state of disrepair for over 11 years, causing severe hardship for residents and motorists alike
