Former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has declared that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is positioning itself to win the 2027 presidential election and secure a majority in the National Assembly to implement its reform agenda.
Dickson described the party’s platform as a vehicle for national restoration, expressing confidence that the NDC could win the presidency in the first round of voting.
“The ticket of the NDC is a ticket of restoration of our country,” Dickson declared.
He stressed that the party’s ambition extends beyond winning the presidency, noting that securing sufficient seats in the National Assembly would enable its leadership to pursue policies aimed at reforming and transforming the country.
“The presidential election is very important to us. All elections are important. We want to win the presidency on the first ballot. We also want to win a majority of seats in the National Assembly, where our president and vice president can run the government of reform and transformation,” he said.
As preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum, Dickson urged young Nigerians to resist vote-buying and intimidation, stressing the need for citizens to protect the integrity of their votes.
He also called on party supporters to avoid violence, abusive language and personal attacks, insisting that political campaigns should focus on policies and ideas capable of addressing the country’s challenges.
“We are not for violence. We are not for abuses,” he said.
