2027: Opeyemi Bamidele Says No Nigerian Should Die Over Politics

Opeyemi Bamidele

Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, has warned political actors against actions capable of triggering violence ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In his Eid-el-Kabir message, Bamidele said no Nigerian, whether young or old, should lose their life because some people are seeking political power.

“No Nigerian, whether old or young, deserves to die again because some people are seeking political offices by all means,” he said.

He urged politicians across party lines to approach campaigns and elections with the understanding that Nigeria remains a collective heritage and that no life should be lost because of political activities.

Bamidele also called on Nigerians to embrace the virtues of faith, sacrifice, peace and unity during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The Senate Leader further urged citizens to pray for abducted children, parents and teachers still in captivity, especially victims recently kidnapped in Borno and Oyo states.

His message comes as Nigeria gradually enters another intense election season, with rising concerns over insecurity, political tension and the need to prevent violence before, during and after the 2027 polls.
