Human rights activist and African Action Congress presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that there is a plot to convict him in order to stop his 2027 presidential ambition.
Sowore claimed that those behind his legal troubles are determined to secure a conviction against him at all costs.
“They want to convict me at all costs to stop my 2027 presidential race,” he said.
His comment comes amid his ongoing legal battle in a defamation case involving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Sowore had earlier declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election, insisting that he is running to win and not merely to participate.
The activist has repeatedly accused the government of using state institutions to intimidate critics and silence opposition voices.
