The Yobe State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Muhammad Gadaka, has sparked reactions after urging women to resist any attempt by their husbands to dictate which political party they should support.
Gadaka said women should be free to make their own political choices, including deciding whether to vote for the APC, regardless of their husbands’ preferences.
Speaking on the issue, the APC chairman reportedly told women to stand up to husbands who attempt to prevent them from voting for the ruling party.
If your husband won’t allow you to vote for APC, stand up to him and seek a divorce. If you leave the marriage, I will pay your dowry and marry you.
