25 Billion Naira Gate: Anambra State House Of Assembly Members Relocate To Enugu

The Anambra state House of Assembly Members are currently in Enugu, for a 4-day workshop to enhance their legislative skills.

AIF Media gathered the House members are taking the advantage of their workshop at Enugu to hold series of meetings on the state of affairs in the Anambra state.

A source in one of the meetings told AIF Media that the House members are angry that the governor who has refused to pay them their DUES secretly without approval from the House cashed out the 25 billion naira refund from the federal government before maturity date thereby causing the state to lose about 8 billion naira.

However, This Forum was told that the House members on return from Enugu will refuse to pass the 2021 budget except the governor meets their demands.

A house member who pleaded anonymity said, “we are tired of being seen as a rubber stamp to Agu Awka. Look at this mess of losing 8 billion naira because they want to squander the 25 billion naira before leaving office next year.”

Another member said, “so they cashed out 25 billion naira few weeks ago and refused to pay us our DUES, we will act.”
