Hon. Yemi Arokodare Resigns from PDP After Over 20 Years of Service

Former House of Representatives member, Hon. Yemi Arokodare, has officially announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ending a long-standing political affiliation that spanned over two decades.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Arokodare said the decision came after “careful consideration and extensive consultation with family, friends, political leaders, and associates.”

“This was not an easy decision for me. Being a member of this party has been a significant part of my life,” he stated, acknowledging the victories, challenges, and experiences he shared with fellow party members.

The former lawmaker, who represented Ekiti South Federal Constituency I from 2003 to 2007, also served as Special Adviser on Special Duties to two Speakers of the House between 2007 and 2015, and later as Federal Commissioner at the Public Complaints Commission from 2015 to 2021.

He concluded by expressing gratitude to the PDP and its leadership, stating he leaves with “no regrets” and with deep respect for the party’s ongoing vision.
