Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has condemned the brutal killing of Mr. Ifesinachi Onyekere, Managing Director of Fish Magnet Outlet in Awka.
Obi made the statement on Tuesday during a condolence visit to the victim’s mother, Mrs. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi, describing the incident as a “painful and tragic loss.”
According to reports, Onyekere, a promising young SME entrepreneur, was kidnapped by unidentified assailants and later killed, with his remains found in Amawbia.
“This shocking and senseless act of violence is a painful reminder of the worsening insecurity in our society,” Obi said. He called on security agencies to carry out a thorough investigation to apprehend and prosecute the culprits.
Obi stressed that Nigeria must not allow lawlessness to thrive, urging collective action from government, communities, and citizens to build a safer and more secure nation.
“May God, in His infinite mercy, grant eternal rest to Ifesinachi and give his family the strength to bear this heartbreaking loss,” he prayed.
