Fr. Kevin Ugwu Reacts to Chioma’s Viral Private Jet Meal Video, Urges Contentment

Catholic priest, Fr. Kevin Ugwu, has advised Nigerians to avoid unnecessary comparisons with celebrities, stressing that true happiness is rooted in contentment and not in material display.

His reaction followed a viral video showing Chioma Adeleke, wife of Nigerian music star Davido, eating a meal aboard a private jet. The clip sparked mixed reactions online, with many social media users admiring her lifestyle and questioning their own circumstances.

In a strongly worded post, Fr. Ugwu wondered why people attach so much significance to such displays. He noted that what Chioma was eating jollof rice, fish, sliced cucumber and a drink was nothing extraordinary.

“You can as well clean up the boot of your car and serve yourself food in it as it moves,” he remarked. “Most of you don’t appreciate yourselves. These celebrities you are ‘awwwing’ are not living a better life just because they eat on a plane or wear an expensive ring or wristwatch.”

The priest emphasized that joy, happiness, and contentment remain the true markers of a meaningful life. He urged Nigerians to stop asking God unnecessary questions about wealth and fame, pointing out that what people often glorify about celebrities may not hold as much value as assumed.

“As I will always say, when you get there, you will see that there is nothing there,” Fr. Ugwu concluded.
