Popular Nigerian comedian and filmmaker, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has debunked claims circulating on social media that he is in a state of regret and seeking reconciliation in his past relationship.
In a statement shared on his official platforms, AY described the reports as “false, incessant, and insensitive,” accusing some blogs of deliberately spreading misleading narratives to drive traffic and engagement.
He stated:
“My attention has been drawn to a series of false, incessant, and insensitive social media posts suggesting that I am in a state of regret seeking reconciliation in my past relationship. These publications are deliberately manipulative, calculated to mislead the public, and designed solely for traffic and engagement.”
The comedian stressed that he never made such statements and would always communicate his position on personal matters directly with his fans and the public.
“If I wish to communicate my personal position on any matter, I have the platform, the reach, and the credibility to do so directly — not through faceless blogs and rumour-driven platforms,” he said.
AY further issued a stern warning to those behind the false publications, noting that legal actions will henceforth be taken against individuals, blogs, or platforms that promote or circulate defamatory content about him.
“Enough of the lies,” he declared.
