Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has criticised supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing them of prioritising personal interests over what she described as the betterment of Nigeria.
Edochie made the remarks in an Instagram post on Thursday, September 24, 2026, while publicly declaring her support for Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The actress wrote that people supporting the APC were “after your pockets” rather than the country’s progress. She also announced that she was “officially kicking off” her campaign for Obi and Kwankwaso.
Edochie further urged Nigerians to reject vote buying and political thuggery during the 2027 election. She called on voters to support what she described as “capacity” and to protect what she referred to as the people’s mandate.
Her comments come as political activity ahead of the 2027 presidential election continues to generate public debate, with the actress now publicly aligning herself with the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket and criticising APC supporters.
