Nigerian singer Lojay has finally addressed speculations surrounding his relationship with Folashade Adeleke, daughter of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and cousin to Afrobeats star Davido.
In a recent interview, the Monalisa crooner described Folashade as his “best friend,” stressing that their bond has always been strictly platonic despite public assumptions.
“Fola is literally my best friend. From the very first day I met her, I just knew she was different. She’s the only woman in the 30BG crew, and she holds it down for everybody. Since then, we just clicked and have been good friends ever since,” Lojay said.
When asked if their friendship could ever evolve into something romantic, the singer firmly dismissed the idea, noting that he is not in a space to pursue a relationship at the moment.
Unfortunately for me, I’m not ready for a relationship yet. Some people assume that means you’re m+ssing around, but that’s not my reality. Sometimes, people genuinely need time to heal from past experiences, and that’s where I am right now,” he explained.
His remarks come after months of social media speculations linking him romantically with Folashade, who is often seen in the company of Davido’s 30BG crew.
