Controversial investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has stirred fresh controversy with new claims linking several Nigerian celebrities to the ongoing conversations around the late singer Mohbad, Marlian Music, and industry rivalries.
Olunloyo alleged that two major celebrities, Davido and Iyabo Ojo, were conspicuously absent at the burial ceremony of Tiwa Savage’s late father. According to her, Iyabo Ojo deliberately avoided the event because Mohbad was scheduled to perform, insisting that the actress recently came under scrutiny after it was discovered she had been allegedly “sending Mohbad’s wife on hookups.”
She added that Davido’s absence was “for obvious reasons”, further hinting at a long-standing feud between him and Marlian Music.
Olunloyo further alleged that in 2022, Davido reportedly sent Dre DMW to approach singer Zinoleesky in a bid to lure him into DMW, with the alleged intention of destabilizing Marlian Music at the height of its success. This, she claimed, was the origin of the frosty relationship between Naira Marley (NM) and Davido, with the Marlian boss shading him repeatedly on social media throughout 2024.
In another revelation, she linked Zlatan Ibile to the early friction between Mohbad and Naira Marley, alleging that Zlatan encouraged Mohbad to exit Marlian Music despite being bound by contract. She claimed this advice sparked the dispute that later escalated into Mohbad’s crisis with the label.
Olunloyo also claimed that popular broadcasters Brekete Family host Ahmad Isah and Oriyomi Hamzat faced threats from a powerful figure she described as Wunmi’s godfather, who allegedly vowed to shut down their radio licenses if they continued probing into Mohbad’s controversial death.
