There is a rising political tension in Rivers State as the ruling All Progressives Congress in the Ikwerre Local Government Area makes a bold declaration, vowing to retire two former governors from politics.
At a major rally ahead of this Saturday’s local government elections, party leaders issued a strong warning to former Governors Rotimi Amaechi and Celestine Omehia, who are from the area.
They declared that the political careers of the two prominent figures would be ended following the 2027 general elections.
The APC party’s campaign director in Ikwerre, Obinna Ekem, had a pointed message for President Bola Tinubu that he should face his political rivals at the national level as they will take care of Rotimi Amaechi alongside celestine Omehia at the local level.
