“If You Akpabio Me, I Go Natasha You” — Charly Boy Reacts to Senate Drama

Maverick entertainer and activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy or Areafada, has weighed in on the unfolding drama between Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and the leadership of the Nigerian Senate.

In a fiery statement released on Tuesday, Charly Boy criticized what he described as a “stage-managed” attempt by the National Assembly to save face after thousands of Nigerians marched to demand justice for the embattled Kogi Central lawmaker.

According to him, the sudden unsealing of Senator Natasha’s office was not an act of goodwill but a calculated move to douse public anger.

“If you Akpabio me, I go Natasha you,” he declared, stressing that the video of Natasha’s office reopening was merely propaganda to stop the protests from gaining momentum.

Charly Boy further noted that past suspended senators like Abdul Ningi and Ali Ndume never received such publicized reconciliatory gestures, insisting that Natasha’s resilience was the real reason behind the mass support she enjoys.

He accused the Senate of hypocrisy, arguing that many of the lawmakers criticizing Natasha are guilty of worse misconducts.

“Most of those ‘he goats’ in the Senate carry bigger scandals that could disgrace them if exposed. They have no moral standing to shout Natasha’s name like she alone offended,” he said.

Areafada warned that the current situation is a sign of an impending revolution, as Nigerians are becoming more politically aware and increasingly ready to challenge authority.

“Nigerians now know that power is in their hands. If small protests can shake them, imagine what will happen when everybody stands gidigba,” he added.
