Serious allegations have surfaced against Senator Ned Nwoko, claiming that he is using his political influence to manipulate security institutions and obstruct justice in the ongoing case involving Samuel Ojoegwu, popularly known as Sir Sammy West. The allegations were circulated on Monday in a statement attributed to rights advocate Omoyele Sowore.

According to the claims, Senator Nwoko allegedly deployed significant financial resources to elements within the Nigeria Police Force to intimidate members of Regina Daniels’s family and associates. The statement further alleges that some police operatives, and in certain instances the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), were pressured to act on fabricated accusations against individuals close to the actress.

The allegations also include claims that the senator sought to block the bail of Sammy West and attempted to initiate the arrest of Regina Daniels’s mother and friends based on unverified accusations of drug-related activities. There are further assertions that private WhatsApp communications belonging to Regina Daniels were illegally intercepted and shared with authorities.

In addition, Senator Nwoko is accused of sponsoring falsified medical documents from two Abuja-based medical facilities in an effort to implicate the actress and her associates.

The statement describes the alleged actions as abuses of power and violations of fundamental human rights, calling on President Bola Tinubu, the Attorney-General of the Federation, the Nigeria Police Force, the NDLEA, and international human rights organisations to investigate the claims and ensure accountability.
