A viral video circulating on social media shows a heartbroken Nigerian father accusing the staff of an Abuja hospital of negligence that allegedly led to the death of his newborn baby over an unpaid bill.
The father said his wife had received regular antenatal care at the hospital throughout her pregnancy. However, on the day of delivery, he was reportedly asked to pay ₦8,000 for a procedure. When he was unable to make the payment immediately, he alleges that hospital staff left the newborn unattended, resulting in the infant’s death.
