Kidnapped Women in Kaduna

Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 3 Division, under Operation Enduring Peace, have rescued 10 kidnapped women in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State following a coordinated search-and-rescue mission.

The victims were abducted from their farms at Ungwan Nungu on November 29. According to sources who spoke to Akelicious, the rescue was achieved after days of sustained search operations aimed at locating the kidnappers’ hideout.

At about 6:40 a.m. on Friday, troops reportedly encountered the abductors while they attempted to receive ransom money from relatives of the captives. The soldiers engaged the criminals with what was described as “superior firepower,” forcing them to abandon the hostages and flee.

All 10 women were safely rescued. Items recovered from the scene include one fabricated AK-47 rifle, a round of 9mm ammunition, and ₦1.6 million, believed to be part of the ransom the kidnappers were expecting.

The victims have since been debriefed and reunited with their families, while efforts continue to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
