Popular socialite and businessman, Cubana ChiefPriest, has stirred political reactions across the Southeast after openly declaring his support for Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, and Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, describing them as the “genuine forces” driving development in the region.
In a strongly worded statement shared online, Cubana ChiefPriest said the collaboration between Governor Uzodimma, whom he referred to as a recognized Southeast leader, and Governor Alex Otti was “enough for the people,” insisting that the region no longer listens to politicians who engage in what he described as “fake praising” of President Bola Tinubu to escape accountability for alleged embezzlement.
He praised Governor Otti as “God’s sent to the Southeast,” recounting his personal experience of being born and raised in Aba, where he claimed he had never witnessed the level of development currently ongoing in Abia State until recent years. According to him, similar progress is also visible in Imo State, crediting both governors for tangible growth.
Cubana ChiefPriest further stated that politicians who attack Governor Alex Otti are “evil,” vowing that such individuals would be voted out of politics in the 2027 general elections. He also took a swipe at other political actors in the region, branding them “shoe shiners, noise makers, jokers, and thieves.”
In a controversial remark, he suggested that Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s political survival was tied to Governor Uzodimma’s influence, describing Uzodimma as a key power broker and referring to him as “the Governor General” and “Chairman of the Governors Forum.”
He concluded by expressing confidence in Uzodimma’s leadership, stating that the Southeast believes in him and that he has the “final say” in the region’s political direction, adding that the Southeast is on the rise.
