The All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified efforts to strengthen its structure and deepen grassroots participation in Anambra State with the ongoing online registration and revalidation of party membership.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, APC chieftain, Sir Azuka Okwuosa, KSC (Chinyelugo Oraifite), called on party members, Anambrarians, residents and indigenes of the state to actively participate in the exercise, describing it as critical to effective governance and internal democracy within the party.
Okwuosa said the registration and revalidation process is designed to build a credible and comprehensive membership database, enhance transparency, and guarantee meaningful participation of members in party activities at all levels. He noted that possession of an APC identification number is a key requirement for eligibility to participate in party congresses and other statutory processes.
According to him, Nigerians willing to register with the APC must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN), hold a valid Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and willingly subscribe to the aims and objectives of the party.
He outlined the registration steps, advising prospective members to contact their ward chairmen to identify designated e-registration agents, complete their registration through the ward agents, and obtain their electronic registration slips upon completion.
Okwuosa further urged existing APC members to promptly revalidate their membership, while encouraging Ndi Anambra to join the ruling party in order to be fully integrated into the mainstream of governance in Nigeria.
“The APC ID number is the pedestal for inclusiveness in the party,” he said, stressing that broad participation would strengthen the APC’s capacity to shape governance and deliver dividends of democracy at all levels.
He concluded by calling on stakeholders across the state to embrace the exercise as the party makes a final push to consolidate its base and reposition itself for future political engagements.
