…Insists Only ‘Mad People, Thieves’ Would Vote for APC, Tinubu in 2027
Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and longtime ally of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, has described President Bola Tinubu’s administration as the worst and costliest mistake in Nigeria’s history.
Eze also declared that only “mad people and thieves” would vote for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
The ADC chieftain made the remarks in a statement issued on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, while reacting to recent comments by Amaechi, who reportedly said that no sane Nigerian would vote for the APC in 2027.
Eze said Amaechi’s position reflected the realities of the country under Tinubu’s administration, accusing the President of failing to address the numerous challenges confronting Nigerians.
According to him, Tinubu’s government has earned a place among the most underperforming administrations since Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999.
He argued that Nigerians made a grave mistake by allowing Tinubu to assume office in 2023, alleging that the President had prioritised his re-election ambition over providing purposeful leadership and effective governance.
“Is it not only a madman or a thief that will vote for a President and a party that do not have any solution to the hydra-headed challenges facing Nigeria in 2027?” Eze queried.
He listed insecurity, corruption, nepotism, banditry, kidnapping, hunger, deprivation and unemployment among the major challenges he said had worsened under the present administration.
The ADC chieftain further accused the Tinubu government of mismanaging the economy, insisting that its policies had subjected Nigerians to unprecedented hardship.
“Honestly, without sentiment, Tinubu’s presidency is the worst and costliest mistake ever made by Nigerians. We have never had it this bad before, and it will certainly take a long period for the country to recover from this national calamity called Tinubu presidency,” he said.
Eze also recalled Tinubu’s inaugural address on May 29, 2023, particularly the announcement concerning the removal of the petrol subsidy, arguing that Nigerians should have recognised the direction of the administration from its early days.
He alleged that the President’s political focus had been on securing another term in office rather than addressing the country’s economic and security challenges.
Describing the situation as a national setback, Eze urged Nigerians to mobilise ahead of the 2027 general elections and vote out Tinubu and the APC.
He maintained that a change of government was necessary to rescue the country from what he described as years of poor leadership and economic mismanagement.
