The family of Mrs Patience Ngozi Adiele has raised alarm over the death of their mother aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Abuja to the United States, alleging that the airline is concealing the true cause of her death.

According to a statement issued by her daughter, Adiele Jacqueline, the 70-year-old, who had over a decade of experience travelling between Nigeria, the UK and the U.S., returned to Nigeria during the Christmas season to celebrate her 70th birthday with family members. She boarded Ethiopian Airlines flights ET950 and ET500 from Abuja on January 19, 2026, en route back to the United States.

Mrs Adiele reportedly died onboard the aircraft on January 20, 2026, before arriving at her destination.

The family is now calling on passengers who were on the same Ethiopian Airlines flight departing Abuja on January 19 to come forward with eyewitness accounts of events that may have occurred onboard prior to her death. They insist that such information is crucial to uncovering what truly happened during the flight.

Passengers or individuals with relevant information have been urged to contact the family via [email protected] as calls grow for transparency and an independent investigation into the incident.
