Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has raised fresh allegations against the camp of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, accusing it of allegedly mobilising media platforms to circulate damaging materials against her.
The Kogi Central senator made the allegation in a Facebook post after a video by social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) surfaced online.
Akpoti-Uduaghan shared what she described as a WhatsApp conversation purportedly discussing plans to circulate the VDM video through national newspapers and blogs.
In the screenshot, an unidentified person allegedly asked for recommendations of national dailies and blogs that could publish the material, as well as the “cost implications” involved.
Reacting to the alleged conversation, the senator accused Akpabio’s office of attempting to use the media against her.
“Dear Godswill Akpabio, Senate President of the Nigerian 10th Assembly… you may take the envelope and publish whatever Akpabio’s office sends to you,” she wrote.
She further warned the Senate President, saying: “S.P. Akpabio, know that the pits you dig for me, you shall very well fall into.”
However, the senator did not identify the person behind the alleged WhatsApp exchange, and the authenticity and origin of the conversation could not be independently established.
