APC Denies Allegations of Forced E-Registration, Accuses ADC of Disinformation

APC and ADC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed claims by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that civil servants are being pressured to participate in its ongoing electronic membership registration exercise, describing the allegation as false and baseless.

In a statement issued on Monday, the APC said the claim was part of what it described as a disinformation campaign by the ADC aimed at discrediting the party’s digital membership registration initiative.

The APC alleged that the opposition party had also fabricated and circulated a fake APC membership slip, falsely suggesting that a known terrorist had registered as a member of the ruling party.

According to the APC, millions of Nigerians have voluntarily enrolled in the party’s electronic registration exercise, driven by what it described as the visible impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda. The party said the large turnout compelled its leadership to extend the registration period from January 31 to February 8, 2026.

The ruling party further claimed that the ADC’s criticisms were motivated by intimidation over the reported success of the e-registration exercise, insisting that this did not justify what it called the peddling of falsehoods.

The APC maintained that its digitised membership registration process reflects its commitment to innovation and democratic development, adding that it would remain focused on expanding its membership base despite opposition attacks.

The statement was signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, CON.
