Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has defended the policies and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the current administration never promised instant solutions but rather a carefully planned path toward national development.
Akpabio made the remarks while representing President Tinubu at the inauguration of the seven-kilometre access road bypassing the second runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
According to the Senate President, the government’s focus remains on implementing structural and deliberate reforms aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.
“When we came into office, we did not promise you miracles that would appear from thin air. We promised you structural, calculated, and deliberate progress,” Akpabio said.
He added that the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda was designed to impact citizens beyond economic indicators by addressing the realities of their daily challenges.
“We promise a Renewed Hope Agenda that will touch the lives of every Nigerian citizen, not just in economic statistics but also in the reality of their daily struggles,” he stated.
The inauguration of the access road forms part of ongoing infrastructure projects by the Federal Government aimed at improving transportation and connectivity around the nation’s capital.
Akpabio maintained that the Tinubu administration remains committed to delivering long-term development through strategic investments in critical sectors, including infrastructure, despite prevailing economic challenges.
