Socialite Cubana Chiefpriest says there is no way he will be able to help incarcerated leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, secure his release if he is with the opposition parties.
His comment comes hours after social critic, Very Dark Man, called him out for working with a political support group for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
In a video posted on his page this morning, VDM shared a clip showing members of the support group which included Chief Priest, meeting with the Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma, who is also a member of the APC.
VDM in his video opined that ChiefPriest is hypocritical in his support for the APC. He referred to a post ChiefPriest made in November 2025 in which he spoke directly to President Tinubu and said the APC will not secure up to 10, 000 votes in the South East during the 2027 presidential election if Nnamdi Kanu remains in prison. Chief Priest in that his post, mentioned that Nnamdi Kanu is the Supreme Leader of the South East and that only the release of the IPOB leader can guarantee votes from the South East for President Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
VDM wondered what has now changed for ChiefPriest to be campaigning for President Tinubu despite the fact that Kanu still remains in prison custody. He also averred that ChiefPriest and other South East leaders have gone silent on their calls for Kanu’s release and are now pursuing their personal gains.
Reacting to VDM’s callout, ChiefPriest in a post shared on his Instastories, said that he cannot help Nnamdi Kanu if he remains in the opposition, He said he has always been an APC member and that despite the fact that he is an APC member, he campaigned for Peter Obi during the 2023 general election. He said with regards to the 2027 elections, he will work towards President Tinubu’s re-election. He also mentioned he will be seeking to run for a seat in the House of Representatives.
