Content creator Shanks has sparked reactions online after sharing his thoughts on men and emotional expression during a recent streaming session.
Speaking during the stream, Shanks said many men struggle with depression because they do not openly express their emotions or compliment one another.
“The reason many men are depressed is because we don’t express our emotions to each other. As men, we should be able to tell each other ‘you are a fine boy’ or ‘you’re handsome,’” he said.
He added that men should also feel comfortable asking each other questions or giving genuine compliments without feeling awkward.
“We guys need to free ourselves. When you see a guy with muscle, ask him where he gyms or ask if he can pick you up so you both can go to the gym together. Always ask for information,” he stated.
Shanks further emphasized that men should normalize complimenting one another, noting that there is nothing wrong with telling another man he looks good.
“If you see a handsome guy, as a guy tell him he is a fine boy,” he added.
