Veteran Nollywood star and preacher, Eucharia Anunobi, firmly corrected the hosts of the The Honest Bunch Podcast after she was introduced with a name she says no longer belongs to her.
During the interview, the host attempted to welcome her as “Eucharia Anunobi Ekwu,” but the actress immediately set the record straight, insisting she must be addressed correctly.
“If you want to introduce me, you introduce me properly,” she said. “I am, and remain, Apostle Dr. Eucharia Anunobi.”
The actress stressed that her doctorate degree is not honorary but one she earned through hard work and academic study.
“My doctorate degree is not an honorarium; it is academic. I had worked, I labored, I’m schooled — and when I mean schooled, I mean schooled,” she stated.
Anunobi also highlighted her achievements in Nollywood, describing herself as more than just a superstar.
“I am a woman of God, an ordained woman of God. A foremost, not just superstar, I’m a megastar when it comes to acting. I’m a moving acting machine,” she said.
Addressing the “Ekwu” name used by the host, the actress explained that the relationship linked to the name ended long ago and should no longer be attached to her identity.
“I don’t know where you got the Ekwu from. Yes, there was a court wedding, but there was no traditional wedding and no church wedding,” she said.
According to her, the relationship has since been dissolved and the name completely removed from her life.
“That relationship has been dissolved, and that name has been expunged. It’s gone and buried and will never resurrect,” she added.
The outspoken actress concluded by reiterating that she should simply be addressed as Apostle Dr. Eucharia Anunobi.
