A man has taken to social media to share his concern over the high rate at which people are living with HIV in Enugu and most of them are not aware.
According to him, a medical screening process was conducted at Okpara Square, where about 15 people were tested of HIV and only 3 tested negative to the virus.
Confirming that 12 people which was about 70% tested positive to the virus, raising the concern of How Many People in Enugu are HIV positive without knowing it.
Based on recent data, Enugu State has a 1.9% HIV-positive prevalence rate among the 15-49 age group, which is higher than the 1.3% national average. The state is considered to have one of the highest HIV/AIDS prevalence rates in the South East region of Nigeria.
