Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has reacted after a man confronted him on social media, describing him as a “political content creator” rather than a genuine advocate for the people.
The man, whose comments circulated online, questioned Sowore’s style of activism, claiming that the activist often mobilizes protests without achieving concrete results before moving on to another cause.
He also alleged that Sowore has been involved in similar activism since his days in the Students’ Union Government (SUG), arguing that his actions appear more self-serving than people-focused.
According to the critic, Sowore frequently calls people out to protests but is among the first to leave when security forces deploy tear gas, while also questioning whether the activist’s “Revolution Now” campaign is meant to incite conflict.
Responding to the criticism, Sowore appeared unfazed, saying he appreciated being described as a political content creator.
“I appreciate you for seeing my activism as content creation because it has content,” Sowore replied.
