Fresh drama has emerged following recent claims by veteran actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known for his role in the classic TV comedy Papa Ajasco and Company, that he is struggling financially.

In an official statement, renowned producer Wale Adenuga and his production outfit, Wale Adenuga Productions (WAP), moved swiftly to counter the narrative, insisting the actor has enjoyed significant support and benefits over the years.

According to the statement, the company revealed that Ayoyinka was once gifted a car, alongside another colleague, and has reportedly used not less than five different vehicles, including a Mercedes-Benz, at various times during his association with the production house.

WAP further claimed that, to the best of their knowledge, the actor owns a house in Ogun State, raising questions about the basis of his recent public declaration of financial hardship.

The production outfit also referenced Ayoyinka’s over 30 years of service as a civil servant with the Lagos State Government, querying what became of his retirement gratuities and investments accrued during that lengthy career.

The statement stressed that artistes working with the brand are not restricted from pursuing other income opportunities, noting that recording for the long-running comedy series typically takes only about six weeks in a year, leaving room for other ventures.

WAP concluded by maintaining that it has consistently met its financial obligations and described allegations of neglect or exploitation as misleading, even as the controversy continues to spark heated conversations among fans of the iconic comedy franchise.
