Zamfara State Govt Deploys 1,474 Security Personnel Ahead of Eid-el-Fitr

The Zamfara State Government has held a high-level meeting with heads of security and paramilitary agencies to review the state’s security situation and devise proactive safety measures ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

In a Wednesday statement signed by Suleman Ahmad Tudu, the Senior Special Assistant on Media, Office of the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, the security agencies briefed the state government on the proactive measures they are implementing to ensure the security and safety of Zamfara residents ahead of the festive period.

According to the statement, the meeting was chaired by the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government (SSG), Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, in Gusau, the state capital, on Tuesday.

The statement revealed that the measures include the massive deployment of about 1,474 Police, Civil Defence Corps, Intelligence personnel, Road Safety Officers and Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams who specialise in handling bomb and explosive threats.

The statement reads, “Those gallant officers will work in synergy with local authorities on intelligence, surveillance, patrols and traffic control aimed at maintaining public order across the 14 local government areas of the state.”
