Nigerian woman Izzy Ogbeide has shared details about the harsh realities she claims many trafficked women face in parts of Europe’s underground sex trade.
In a viral video circulating on social media, Ogbeide alleged that women working under so-called “madams” are often forced to serve numerous clients daily in order to repay large debts imposed on them.
According to her account, she was required to settle a debt of €50,000 to the woman controlling her activities. She said the amount each client paid ranged between €5 and €10, meaning she had to see many customers every day to gradually clear the debt.
Ogbeide claimed the work often lasted from evening until early morning, leaving little time for rest as the pressure to repay the debt within one or two years remained intense.
Her comments have reignited conversations online about human trafficking and sexual exploitation of Nigerian women abroad, a problem that advocacy groups and authorities say has affected many victims over the years.
Several anti-trafficking organizations have repeatedly warned that many women are lured overseas with promises of legitimate jobs, only to end up in exploitative conditions where they must repay large debts under strict control.
