Social media commentator Daniel Regha has criticized Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage over her attendance at a royal dinner in the United Kingdom.
In a post shared on his social media page, Regha argued that public figures should be more sensitive to the challenges Nigerians are facing at home, including insecurity, economic hardship, and lack of basic amenities.
According to him, even if the invitation came directly from members of the British royal family, Savage should have declined the offer in solidarity with Nigerians dealing with the country’s current difficulties.
Regha said the decision to attend such events abroad sends the wrong message at a time when many citizens are struggling. He further accused some Nigerian celebrities of failing to speak out about national issues and prioritizing personal interests over collective concerns.
He also blamed the public for what he described as a lack of accountability, saying Nigerians often move on quickly without demanding responsibility from influential figures.
