Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, urging citizens to uphold the virtues of peace, sacrifice, and compassion learned during the holy month.

In his Eid message on Friday, the president thanked Almighty God for guiding the faithful through the sacred period of Ramadan and called on Nigerians to continue practicing the values of patience, tolerance, and neighbourliness.

Tinubu noted that the lessons of Ramadan, which coincided with the Christian season of Lent, should serve as a foundation for strengthening unity and building a more compassionate society.

The president urged Nigerians to remain supportive of the needy and vulnerable, stressing the importance of kindness, good behaviour, and peaceful coexistence beyond the festive period.

He also called on citizens to support efforts to maintain national security, emphasizing that peace and stability are a shared responsibility.

“Stability, peace, and security are not the responsibility of one man alone. It is a collective duty,” Tinubu said, encouraging Nigerians to stay vigilant and report suspicious movements within their communities.

The president concluded his message with prayers for peace across the country and wished Muslims a joyous celebration, saying, “May God accept our sacrifices. Eid Mubarak.”
