Residents of Aba have taken to the streets to sensitize the public on the importance of obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), emphasizing that real political change happens at the ballot box—not on social media.
During the awareness campaign, many participants expressed strong support for Alex Otti, noting that his administration has demonstrated visible progress, particularly in road construction across the state.
According to the residents, Governor Otti has proven that infrastructural development is possible regardless of seasonal challenges, dismissing excuses often cited by previous administrations. They pointed out that ongoing road projects in Aba have continued seamlessly through both rainy and dry seasons, earning the governor widespread praise.
While acknowledging the growing trend of online political support, the residents warned that social media activism alone cannot determine electoral outcomes. They urged eligible voters to prioritize registering and collecting their PVCs ahead of future elections.
“There is no election on social media,” one of the campaigners stated. “People can shout ‘Alex Otti or nothing’ online, but without a voter card, their voices won’t count. Now is the time to act.”
The rally underscores a broader push for increased civic participation, as residents seek to translate online enthusiasm into actual votes when the time comes.
