Several people are feared dead following a suspected herdsmen attack on Aso A community in Mararaba, near Abuja, along the border with Nasarawa State.
The violence reportedly erupted after a clash between a farmer and a herder, which resulted in the herder’s death. In apparent retaliation, armed assailants stormed the community, killing residents, burning homes, and forcing many to flee.
Security forces have been deployed to restore order, but tensions remain high amid fears of further attacks, including possible reinforcements from nearby Keffi. A motorcyclist carrying a police officer to the scene was also reportedly ambushed and killed.
