A disturbing case of kidnapping has surfaced following revelations by activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared a chilling video detailing the ordeal of a woman allegedly abducted while traveling from Onitsha to Asaba.
According to the report, the victim boarded a commercial bus for the journey but reportedly became drowsy shortly after entering the vehicle. She allegedly fell into an unusual sleep, only to wake up in captivity at an undisclosed forest location, where she was tied up and subjected to harsh conditions, including having water poured on her.
The abductors reportedly seized her phone and used it to contact her family, demanding ransom in U.S. dollars rather than naira. In a shocking twist, the kidnappers were said to have provided a U.S.-based account for the payment, raising concerns about possible international links in the crime.
Sources indicate that the woman was held captive for over two weeks before details of her ordeal emerged.
Reacting to the incident, Gwamnishu warned Nigerians to remain vigilant while traveling, especially when using public transport. He advised passengers to immediately raise alarm and exit any vehicle if they experience unusual symptoms such as strange smells, sudden dizziness, or unexplained sleepiness.
