The Enugu State Government, under the leadership of Governor Peter Mbah, has procured and distributed rain capes and boots to all personnel of the State Forest Guard to sustain year-round security operations.
The equipment, deployed through the Office of the Commander, Forest Guard, is to ensure uninterrupted operations across forest and rural terrains as the state enters the peak rainy season.
Security experts note that criminal elements often exploit adverse weather to evade detection and carry out attacks, but with this intervention, the state has effectively denied them that advantage.
The Forest Guard will now sustain bush-combing operations, deep forest patrols, and night surveillance without limitation.
The move reinforces Governor Mbah’s proactive security strategy, which prioritises operational readiness, personnel welfare, and total terrain dominance.
