Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has reacted to a viral image circulating online showing him alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as a manipulated creation designed to mislead the public.
In a statement, Sowore alleged that the image was generated using artificial intelligence by what he called a “reactionary coalition” seeking to distort reality and shape political narratives.
He argued that despite the intent behind the image, it unintentionally reflects what he described as a deeper, unspoken acknowledgment of leadership qualities. According to him, such portrayals amount to “subconscious confessions” by his opponents.
Sowore further used the moment to draw a contrast between himself and the president, asserting that Nigerians are capable of recognizing leadership rooted in “character, courage, and truth.”
The activist added that the circulation of such content points to growing desperation among political actors, insisting that “they are speaking, perhaps unknowingly, to a future that has already arrived.”
The viral image has since sparked mixed reactions across social media, with debates intensifying over the use of AI-generated content in Nigeria’s political space and its potential impact on public perception.
