President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised the resilience and bravery of Nigeria’s Armed Forces amid ongoing military operations against insurgents, while mourning the loss of soldiers killed in a recent attack in Borno State.
In a statement, the President revealed that troops have been carrying out sustained and intense land and air offensives, successfully neutralising several terrorist fighters and commanders. He described recent counterattacks by insurgents as “a sign of desperation,” indicating that military pressure is yielding results.
Tinubu extended heartfelt condolences to the families of fallen soldiers, particularly the late Brigadier-General Oseni Omoh Braimah, who died in the line of duty. He assured that their sacrifices would never be forgotten, emphasizing that their courage continues to strengthen the nation’s resolve to defeat terrorism.
The President urged military personnel across all theatres of operation to remain steadfast, encouraging them not to lose heart or become discouraged despite ongoing challenges. He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting the Armed Forces with improved equipment and enhanced welfare for troops.
Calling for national unity, Tinubu also appealed to Nigerians and the media to back the military in its fight against insurgency and banditry, warning against any form of support or glorification of attacks on security forces.
He further extended condolences to the government and people of Borno State, pledging continued collaboration between federal and state authorities to achieve lasting peace and total victory over insurgency.
