The Anambra State Police Command has deployed 60 Safe School Operatives across designated examination centres to ensure a smooth and secure conduct of the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations in the state.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the operatives will be on ground throughout the examination period scheduled to run from April 15 to April 26, 2026.

The statement noted that the deployment, coordinated by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, ACP Harrison Oruruo, is part of proactive security measures under the Safe School Initiative. The initiative is designed to provide a safe and conducive environment for candidates, invigilators, and examination officials.

The police said the operatives will monitor activities at the centres, prevent examination malpractice, and respond swiftly to any form of disruption or security threats.

“The personnel are strategically positioned across the eight Police Area Commands in the state, with operational bases established to ensure effective coordination and rapid response,” the statement added.

The Command further reassured residents of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging candidates and other stakeholders to remain law-abiding and cooperate fully with security personnel throughout the examination period.
